Depending on the structure of the skin, weight loss and age, loosening and serious sagging may occur in the inner thigh and hip regions. In such case, thigh lift and/or hip lift surgery is performed. In thigh lift, a scar forms on the groin and in the hip lift, a scar forms on the side of the hip, within the bikini line. Since it is hidden under the clothes, it does not cause too many problems in daily life.
It is important to cease smoking at least 2-3 weeks before the surgery and to discontinue the use of drugs that slow down coagulation, such as aspirin, at least 1 week before the surgery.
The surgery is performed under general anaesthesia. The drainage is provided with fine silicone tubes (drain) to prevent blood and fluid from accumulating in the abdomen. An elastic bandage is applied on the legs. 1 or 2 nights of hospital stay is required. The most common complication is hematoma (blood accumulation) and seroma (fluid accumulation). Therefore, the effective functionioning of the drains and application of elastic bandages after the surgery are very important. When drainage is reduced, the drains are pulled out. Exercises requiring forcing are avoided for 4-6 weeks. The actions of sitting down and standing up should also be done with caution.
