What is the thermage application?
Thermage is an application that tightens, flattens the skin and restores the facial and body contours and creates a healthy collagen tissue non-surgically with radiofrequency. It is a FDA-approved procedure.
How does Thermage work?
Thermage device uses an application tip with a complex structure, called Therma-Tip. This tip allows radio waves to be transmitted in a controlled manner and in a certain amount. When the tip contacts with the skin, Therma-Tip homogenously warms up the large extent of the collagen tissue in the deep layers of the skin and the layer below it, in the meanwhile, protects the outer surface of the skin by cooling. This deep and homogenous heat application allows immediate tightening of the deep layers of your skin. Over time, reconstructed collagen is produced to tighten the skin further. Thus, you get a younger, healthier and more elastic skin.
Is the Thermage application safe?
Minimal side effects have been reported in less than 1% of approximately 70.000 patients who underwent Thermage all around the world. These are swelling and redness in the treated area. They all disappear completely within a few days or weeks. Very rarely (less than 0.2%), healing may take longer.
What is felt during the application?
With the transmission of radio waves at every touch of the tip of the Thermage device, you experience a short warm-up in the upper and lower layers of your skin. The Thermage tip is cooled before, during and after the warm-up process. Thus, the application becomes more comfortable and easy for patient.
When do I notice the results?
Recently published studies have found that the measurable tightening occurs between 2-6 months after a single session.
